It does a beautiful job of shredding, slicing and dicing. I am dissapointed with the size of the feed shoot. In the description it is claimed to have a large feed shoot but nearly everything needs to be cut down to fit. The photos on the box and in some of the adds are misleading at best because they show whole sliced tomatoes as if they were sliced by this processor attachment when it's obvious there is no way a whole tomato will fit in the feed shoot. I wish KitchenAid would have designed a larger dicing blade as well as the one that is included. Overall I am satisfied with the product and look forward to many years of use.

I primarily bought this to shred my own cheese. I followed the directions and froze the cheese first (and it wouldn't be classed as a soft cheese in any case - sharp cheddar), and attempted to shred into a bowl. The cheese instead of being shredded, ended up being a crumbly, masticated mess. I contacted Kitchenaid and they said the disk was so designed for safety reasons! Really! The disks included a very sharp slicing blade and a very sharp blade for the dicing kit so I find it hard to believe the shredding disk was so designed. If you just plan on shredding potatoes or other crisp vegetables it's okay.

I purchased a brand new KA 525 watt lift bowl mixer and thought why not get the KA food processor as well. I do have other regular KA food processors however, I liked the continuous feed and dicing option this unit offers. Pros: Dicing and continuous feed processing in unlimited amounts. Cons: Not so easy to clean, the dicer has a tendency to clog while in use and this unit does not have near the high rate of rpm spin/rotation that a regular food processor motor offers and can cause uneven and distorted slicing of softer foods such as tomatoes and soft fruits. I did find colder and firmer fruits, cheeses and veggies allowed for better overall processing results. So I put most everything needing slicing, dicing and shredding in the fridge for a few hours prior to processing. Nice attachment for large batch processing. However, I prefer using my regular 11 cup KA food processor for normal every day use.Read full review

The engineers thought of everything from product design continuity to safety. the latter being important for new user that my not read the instructions. An example would be the blade placements, if they are not place according to specific instructions nothing will work. From a performance point of view...what can I say..it cuts as designed; cleans very easily..suggestion here; be careful handling the blades they are razor sharp;do not leave them out for the kids to wash..do it yourself..use a dish washer or just be careful when hand drying.

Had used a traditional stand alone food processor for years but several months ago bough a Kitchenaid stand mixer and have purchased this processor attachment for it. Very happy with it and really like the fact I can select the thickness I want. Read that it will slice salami so going to try it this weekend. The unit is a bit heavy and the box the blades are kept in doesn’t,t lock but that is about the only negatives I see about this product.
