I was happy to find this accessory for a good price. The one that came with my Kitchenaid mixer is an aluminum alloy and was leaving a gray residue in my dough. Although I know it is not toxic I didn't appreciate gray streaks in my dough. I like the fact that this hook has the white coating and will not leave gray in my dough. I look forward to years of use out of this hook.
