Well I bought this movie from that MOVIEMAGIC pair,Steven and Crystal Holt. I've seen and recorded this movie a few years ago when it was aired on one of the premium cable stations, but the color on that print appears somewhat waterdowned and faded.Supposively this movie is a sequel to the 1976 version of King Kong starring Jeff Bridges and Jessica Lange.I'm disappointed that Rick Baker wasn't recalled to reprised his role of the mighty ape. (Probably due to his commitment to the STAR WARS movies.) I also wished they've retained the JOHN BARRY orchestration,as well. The FUJI videotape,of which I initially recorded this movie, has developed clitches and annoying dropouts. This movie has not been repeated on the premium cable channels for some years. So I decided to purchase the dvd. The movie itself should have been a lot better.Read full review
I was six years old when I saw the '76' version at the movies(LOVED IT!!!) and ten years later they released a sequel for it( a year after Godzilla 1985). It is nowhere as good as the '76' King Kong, but the effects were are really great and to see two Kong's in the film, with the addition to Lady Kong, was also really awesome. What cheesy about it is the dialog and the typical 80's one liners through out the movie. Any King Kong fan or any giant monster movie fan should find this out of print release for your own collection.

The premise is good because they keep Kong alive after he fell from the empire state building. And develope an artificial heart for him. Well in the meantime a female is found, brought to the states and mistreated. So Kong awakens to smell the female, escapes and goes find her and rescues her. Love insues and sure enough they get together.... if you know what I mean. Military comes after them of course and eventually wind up killing Kong again and for good. Female Kong gives birth as daddy Kong dies but, not without getting to see his son first. The cheesy baby kong costume could have been done better but never the less it is a very moving moment. The special effects are not too bad for a B rated low budget movie. All in all it's definatly worth watching if your a Kong fan.
I saw this movie a few years ago and thought,"a king kong love story?" It's about how Linda Hamilton revies kong want to give him a artifical heart but can't do it because of his blood type and it' nowhere to be found until they learn about Brian Kerwin's lady kong. so the story takes off and kong gets his new heart and learns all about love and the "birds and the bees". and you can probably guess yes a little kong is borned but not without some "heart" ache. and that is not the only two who fall in love. kong is not the bad guy in this film. the hunters are. not a bad movie but not one that i would go see in theater.
I just got this movie today. I haven't had it for several years. A lot of people who saw the movie said that they didn't like it. But i thought it was good. I've always been a King Kong fan, and after getting this particular movie again, I once again, own the entire Kong collection! Kong lives!
