It works, which is a relief in itself—sad to say. This is the third product I’ve purchased in an attempt to find a battery that will actually last longer than the original, OEM 1500mah one from Nintendo. This is the first one that actually works. But it is not 3000mah. Maybe 1200-1400. I will keep it as a backup because these things are only going to get more and more difficult to find. Especially since Nintendo seemingly has no interest in making one themselves. But don’t be fooled into thinking this will “extend” anything. If your only need is a battery that works, this seems ok. But I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for extended life. I got the same play time as the original…about 2.5 hours.

As with many other bidders, I agree that this is of poor quality. I charged it fully over night before the first use, as you should do with all batteries. Even on first use, it lasts less time than the years old standard battery that is in my WiiU controller already. It also has trouble charging while playing and is constantly blinking at me, like it is unplugged. Once reported they immediately responded on a weekend and returned it, including free shipping for the return. But, with so little resistance or attempt to actually fix it, this tells me that they know these are garbage and are just pushing junk in hopes that people won't return. Save your time and money and shop elsewhere. Come on Nintendo, there is a market here. Bring back the licensed extended battery with 8 hour life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Read full review

This "3000mAh" battery lasts 1 hour less than the stock battery that comes with the Wii U. If you're looking for an extended life battery, look elsewhere. This battery is exactly the same size as the original Nintendo battery with less capacity. I took it out of my Wii U gamepad and put the original back.

Thought the charger needed replacement but after buying a new one the gamepad still wouldn't hold a charge. This battery solved the problem! Gamepad works like new again. Fully charged it lasts about 4-5 hours, but can be played while charging too. Perfect solution for this expensive gaming system!
