I am a professional housekeeper at a senior living community. I carry a huge amount of assorted keys. Outer shell is tough. I have scrapped it tons of times and it barely leaves a mark. I recommend to all my coworkers ever though my company give us cheap ones for free. If you want a retractable key caddy that doesn't break within 2 weeks, Key-Bak is your only alternative. It's well-designed and doesn't break. Other than that, it's not remarkable. It shouldn't be noteworthy that a key caddy actually works and doesn't break, but this state of affairs speaks volumes about today's companies, determined to produce shoddy wares so you keep buying more. Figuring the Key-Bak was no different, I bought two of them. I've been wearing my Key-Bak every day for over a year, and the second one is still in the box. You need only one.

I think the lanyard is of good quality. It's just not as strong as I was expecting it to be. There is a clip that keeps to he lanyard from sliding down when you don't want it to. This I found annoying at first, now I greatly appreciate it. I am bumping my review from 4 stars to 5.
