Works good after you figure out a way to put it on. It does not fit a J D 1025 steering wheel correctly. You have to modify for fit and buy long better bolts. If you are not mechanic ably don't buy

You'd think a product from John Deere would be a quality item and fit their mowers perfectly. However, this is not the case. I purchased this spinner for my JD X738. Before purchasing I measured the steering wheel with my digital calipers to verify I was buying the correct size which is 1 1/4". When I received the item and attempted to installed it the spinner would not say it position. So naturally I continued to tighten the bolts and while doing so they stripped. Being a machinist for my entire life I had the tools needed to rethread the holes to the next nominal size. These new next size bolts seem to torque enough to secure the spinner. As of this writing I haven't used the mower to determine if the spinner will stay in position.

I feel that this purchase was buying a name. I could have bought a generic one of the same quality for nearly a quarter of the price. This is another big business deal where they come out on top because they have us over a barrel, If we want the part we have to pay for their name. Another thing a dealer told me that this part was a direct fit for my machine, it wasn't even close. You can not put an item on an oval shaped wheel, tighten it down and expect it to stay in place when it was designed for a round wheel.

This spinner is the best out there on the market. I have it in 2 vehicles. My co-workers keep on asking me I should get one for them too. The spinner is top quality, strong, pleasant to operate, convenient, and durable. I highly recommend it to anyone above any other brand or model.

Installed easily with 2 allen screws, with wrench supplied. I installed it on a Snapper 42 inch riding mower and it is very solid and secure. I tried a cheaper knob but it was a poor fit and I had to make some mods to get it to work. I'm very satisfied with this.
