The circle eyelet on handle end of cable was almost twice as thick as the original cable on the mower. While this would normally be viewed as an improvement, it posed a problem. The rod that the cable eyelet attaches to is very short. It would not accommodate the eyelet and still leave enough shaft exposed for the retaining push nut to attach to. Rather than return the cable, I used a 4" grinder to reduce the thickness of the eyelet down to the same as the original cable.

First the cable is way too stiff. You cant get it into the transmission area very easily. Additionally, there should be something that locks the cable sheathing into the end that mounts into the shift assy. The slightest resistance from the shifter forces the cable to come out of the shifter assy end. Maybe even if you glued the sheathing to the end. This is a terrible design. I am going to try and glue it or put a clamp on it to hold it.
