This is a great DVD but since I am just at the beginner stage I will definitely have to work myself gradually to the advanced stage. At least there are different levels. Jillian Michaels is the instructor you want to look for to get the results you want and it is so nice not to have to go to a gym! Great purchase!

The workouts, as individuals, are great workouts!! However, as the 30 day program it's not that great!! Will it "rip u" ?? Absolutely --- but the reasoning is that you are re-ripping torn muscles day after day that should have healing time. By day 4 of week one 1 couldn't lift my legs - Tho that is good thing to an extent, rest days are usually encouraged & recommended, not on this program tho. They want you to keep pushing for 6 days straight and the pain at times in unbearable :( I will continue to use these workouts -- but not as a 30 day program, just a strength supplements to my gym cardio...
Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 is very well thought out and instructed. The workouts progress weekly over a month and Jullian also offers a 30 day meal plan that is easy to follow or be inspired by. I like how she included vegetarian and vegan meal plans, as not so many fitness meal plans offer that for veg heads like myself. I'm on the second week of this dvd and I feel great even after having done the 30 Day Shred work out for several months. This dvd isnt easy, but you don't want easy if you want results. She is a great instructor and keeps me motivated throughout the workout. The way the moves are broken up and not repeated keeps it from getting boring and repetitive. I highly recommend this dvd!
I do work out dvd's religiously, and this one is really great. It's my first jillian Michael's video, and i am hooked. I'm going to get them all. She is very motivating, and knowledgeable. Love it

I am puzzled. I bought this DVD on the strength of the positive reviews. Then I used it for several weeks and revisited the reviews. I saw several negative reviews, some of them suggesting better exercise videos. They are now gone. What happened? I am in my 50's and a regular exerciser. I would hesitate to call it a "beginner" video because it puts strain on the lower back. Also, her tone is extremely rough and gets rougher with each week. Other reviews mentioned this in the reviews that seem have been taken down. I'm not sure I'd buy another Jillian Michaels. I'm a big fan of the old Firm workouts- the ones with the gorgeous girls exercising on oriental carpets- but I'm looking for some shorter cardio blasters for days I can't spend an hour exercising. I don't want to injure my discs and Jillian puts too much strain on the lower back. ( I didn't find her leg exercises challenging ENOUGH- but that's because I've been doing Firm for years! ) I'd love to see those negative reviews again.Read full review
