I first found this series when the Si-Fi channel started airing episodes recently. I had never seen it before so I did a little research and found that it had a two season run a few years back. I love the concept... it's a post apocalyptic story of life after what was called "The Big Death" where everyone over the age of puberty was stricken with a fatal illness. The story is set 15 years after the big death and chronicles the adventures of two men who forge a friendship with each other and work together representing a cautious organization that is stepping out into the chaos to help rebuild a world with the hope of a reasonable future. They encounter a variety of characters, many hostile and self-serving but others who are not. In each episode they try to make some kind of positive difference in the lives of those they encounter. The television version was much "cleaner" than the DVD version. Many of the DVD episodes featured nudity and language that was absent in the television version. This is something to be considered if you are going to be letting children watch. There is also an underlying anti-religious theme along the vein of God being defeated or God being dead or God being cruel towards mankind... a message not to my personal liking but not a deal breaker for my enjoyment of the series. There are various twists and turns in the ongoing plot and only season two will tell if they are well thought out or if they lead only to dead ends. I'm optimistic that the second season will answer all the questions but you never know in series like these. Even if all the lose ends don't get tied up, I still find the series enjoyable and hope the second season becomes available soon. I rarely buy DVD's let alone whole seasons of DVD's, but this series is one I'm glad I bought and I'll definitely buy the second season as soon as it's available.Read full review
A good story that takes place when a virus kills everyone over the age of 13 teen, it is now 15 years after the "BIG DEATH" and the children(now adults) that survived are now trying to build a new future. Luke Perry and Malcom Jamal Warner team up and are working for one of the last civilalized community`s,aka- Thunder Mountain, which is a underground complex that was built to survive World War III and is ran by all the grownup children of the dead military personal of the complex. Anyway Luke who plays-Jeremiah and Malcom who plays-Kurdy are working for Thunder Mountain travel around in a 1970`s chevy pickup (one of the last working vehicles) gathering info on other groups of people, skinheads, military groups, regular people trying to survive. Thunder Mountain is a top seceret complex and they want to findout if anyone is a threat to them before they comeout and start helping people rebuild and there is alot of other things going on also, like Jeremiah`s dad might be alive in another seceret complex call Valahala Sector(A military group)so(Jeremiah) he is looking for info on Valahala Sector. A great series that also has a Second Season that has not been released yet. I`m sure you`ll enjoy it!!!!!Read full review
Loved this series. Interesting to find out they originally had this set to be a 5 year story. The network decided to go in a different direction and even though the ratings were good for this show it was cancelled in the middle of season 2. I sure miss Luke Perry.

As a Sci Fi series it does have its flaws. As it establishes a post apocalyptic world, it meanders story wise establishing a great story arc in the old episodic model. What makes this series a joy to watch are the surprising perfomances by Malcolm Jamal Warner, previously of the Cosby Show, and Luke Perry, previously of 90210, and all the supporting actors whether they are one offs or ongoing. They all prove to be able adult actors, especially Jamal and Warner, who can transcend previous roles. I do recommend streaming the 2nd un-aired season to see the show come into its own.
Great Idea for a show. I think it would really be like that if we had a plague that wiped out all the adults. Kids would run wild. hope they continue on .... kind of left you hanging. It was left in a way that to continue would be very easy. could be made for younger generation more with very little effort. The cast was perfect! it was nice to see some cast members from 90210 together again!
