I bought this DVD because I loved the Get Ripped series by Jari. This is not a workout for beginners. I am a 54 year old fitness instructor who has been teaching for several years and it made me sweat! If you have never done any of her workouts I wouldn't recommend starting with this one. She does have it so you can do 3 different workouts, plus there is a bonus 8 minute abs. There are no rests between sets so be ready to work.She moves fairly quickly through these so make sure your form is good. Have a towel and water close by-you'll need it. If you want a great workout that uses compound moves this is the one for you! Enjoy
I bought this DVD because I love Jari Love's Slim & Lean workout. This workout has not won me over like that one did. First, Extremely Ripped is too long of a workout if you do both 30 minute segments. With throwing in a few pauses to catch my breath and/or take a drink, it easily turned into a 90 minute ordeal. If you want to do only one of the segments, I would recommend going with the second one...it includes push ups and ab work. Second, I am not a fan of compound exercises. I prefer to work one muscle group at a time and give it my full attention. During most of this workout, you work upper and lower body at the same time, and I found I was sometimes sacrificing form in order to keep up. During another try at it, I did modify the workout by eliminating some of the lower body movements while working the upper body. This helped with maintaining form but still made for a very long workout. It is a very tough DVD, and I will probably use it when I know I have plenty of time to devote to a workout. Otherwise, I'll be sticking with the Slim & Lean DVD.Read full review
for those who love compound exercises and consider themselves to be advanced in resistance training, you will truly enjoy this dvd. Jari usually combines 2 exercises together. Throughout the whole dvd, you will be working your larger muscle groups with squats and lunges. The bad part, they will be fatigued and you may lose your form, so I suggest that you pace yourselves throughout the workout and even eliminate the legs if you are looking for a total body workout. I do wish that the cool down or stretch segment was a little longer. I still felt quite tight the next morning. Enjoy!
Oh! MY GOD, i actually havve all jari love dvd ripped workouts! & this ONE'S my favorite it's says EXTREMELY RIPPED WELLL! guys this is more than true. i love her for working out this hard & i consider myself an advance workout-aholic =) but this one was pretty hard on me. i felt it for SEVERAL DAYS AFTER.... OOOOH! MAN I LIKE THAT i recoomand for someone that surching for a really effective workout but NOT for beginner
I love this DVD because it gives you the option of two 30 minute workouts and the option to do both for a full hour session. I have her other DVDs and they are all 1 hour, sometimes your not in the mood to do a full hour of Jari Love (she is soooo intense) so this DVD was perfect for me and I think others will enjoy this option as well. This DVD is for those serious about taking charge of their fitness, great instruction and lots of options for all levels.
