I am a loooooong time DJ. I have been using QSC amps and the old standard JBL-MR 15's...... The bass on these 12 inch speakers sound like I'm using a sub with my set up. The horns are fantastic. The DSP computer in these speakers create audio that will leave you breathless. They are great. I use them for 300 guest weddings and I have no problem. My advice is to set them to "monitor" and run your audio through a mixer with the mid's turned up. If you close your eyes and listen to these speakers, from the middle of the dance floor, they sound better than any other power speaker. I do not know how JBL designed these speakers to sound like they are made out of wood but they did. I bought 4 of them. The unhappy reviews must be from buyers who thought the blue tooth was for audio. My advice to fellow DJ's is: never use blue tooth audio for gigs...or you will regret it. Sooner or later your blue tooth hookup will fail. Buy the 612's because they sound better than the 615's. The 612's have more mid's..... I own a pair of the 615's too. I use them too but not as often. Remember, powered speakers should not be used for a main set up for outdoor gigs... They are too directional. These are great for reception halls. Read full review

I purchased 3 of these recently to use as stage monitors, and had high hopes after doing tons of research. Unfortunately, all 3 have lost their tweeter. I have never ever blown a tweeter in any speaker ever, so I'm shocked and incredibly disappointed that this has happened. After talking to local repair folks and other EON owners, this is the main problem all EON speakers face. I should have known better. There are TONS of aftermarket diaphragm manufacturers ready to sell you replacements. I primarily run sound for metal and punk shows, and play in several metal bands. The speakers can not keep up with the high range demands of this genre of music. Screamed vocals, heavy synthesizers, at high spl: the tweeters just can't do it. They're rated at 35w and, according to the spec sheet, receive 150w continuous (peaking at 300w)... So yeah. On the other hand the woofers have not faltered at all, nor have the plate amplifiers. They can put out plenty of sound, but the tweeters just can't hang. The good news is JBL made these speakers easily serviceable. The trash tweeters simply thread in and out after removing the grille and the screws holding the speaker case together. The Bluetooth feature is complicated, ridiculous, and worthless. Don't bother. If you play lower volume music at small venues, like generic acoustic singer/songwriter normie basic-b kind of stuff, these speakers are for you. Even if you're in a medium sized venue playing to about 100 people in your dad rock cover band, these speakers will do the job, but I would recommend a sub. As far as sound quality, when they work, they sound good with recorded music, although they do sound boxy- like most speakers in plastic cabinets. In short. If you want to buy these, buy these when they're discounted, stock up on tweeters, and don't use them for loud music, even as stage monitors.Read full review

Man might as well been brand new. Couldnt be happier with my deal and the speakers I got. Powered is so easy to deal with. Cut some of the bass and focus on the highs and mids to keep the clarity and let a sub do the rest. Mic straight in needs DI box for sure. Do not get this just to plug and play. Awesome speakers!

I am a Bose fan. I have two complete sets of Bose 802/302 combination systems that I will never get rid of. I purchased the EON612 as pilot speakers for long throws or back of the room systems. I can't say enough about them. Great sound. Super Light Weight. Even less than the 802's and they work like a charm. I have even used them as the main system in a small hall and I didn't miss the big speakers. Well worth the money.

I was looking for a lightweight Powered PA Speaker with a good reputation. And know for quality sound. The JBL EON fit the bill perfectly for me. At about 33 pounds with a 12" woofer it is lighter than any other speaker in this configurement. It also has a high rating of 500 watts RMS, 1000 watts Peak. Bluetooth connectivity a real plus.
