Notes
A little something for everyone, from the selection of songs on this CD, you can tell I was brought up during the era of Woolworth's and Jamboree bags. During the early 1980's, three of us, all blokes, fresh from three years at Canterbury Art College spent a year and a quarter living out at Upstreet (Canterbury to Margate Road, Kent, England) attempting to write, play and learn music. It was during this time on a bike ride exploring the landscape and going 'somewhere I shouldn't', I came across a huge painted sign on the side of a house seemingly in the middle of nowhere ... 'Only 8¼ miles to Dreamland'... It's funny how it's taken 30 years to write a song about it. This CD also includes a selection of new and revitalised songs, plus a handful of traditional songs. I have been joined on these recordings by other musicians and friends who have felt the need to pluck, scrape, blow, hit and holler. A big thanks to them and I hope you enjoy.... It's only 8¼ miles to Dreamland.
