Totally bizarre and great fun, well worth buying if you're a fan of the mind-melting strangeness that once was live action science fiction in Japan. However, if you have a choice I recommend getting the original 2007 BCI Eclipse release rather than the 2010 Mill Creek re-release. Both have the same picture and sound quality (not bad for an obscure Japanese sci-fi superhero show from the seventies but not what anyone could call perfect), but the 2007 set comes with this cool little booklet on the background of the series which is very informative and greatly adds to the enjoyment while viewing (the wild fashions that the characters wear, for example, were usually taken out of the actors' own closets, including the colourful poncho the hero wore which was made for him by his mother who didn't want him getting cold while they were filming up in the mountains!). I bought a copy of both sets, this one and, when I discovered it didn't come with the booklet, the original release, and I heartily recommend hunting down the latter if you're still able to find one. Oh, and one more thing about the 2010 release... the box does NOT come with those central plastic holder thingies and the discs are kept in individual paper envelopes. I wrote to Mill Creek about it, and they said that they had made the switch to more "eco-friendly" packaging so that they would be using less plastic. However, since they had to redesign the box so that the discs wouldn't bounce around in transit and came up with what is basically a small box inside a bigger box, I don't actually see how this really works out, do you? And in addition, I worry about scratching the discs every time I pull them out of their tight, tight little envelopes, so be warned, okay?Read full review

This was purchased as a gift to an old friend as I already own it and loved it. First of all you should be both a fan of shows like Ultraman and delight in things so bad that their great in their own screwball manner. We all know that Toho made their Godzilla movies on what we would consider tight budgets, well the Ultraman series's have pretty much been made on a G-flick's lunch budget. Now imagine what the lunch budget would be like on an Ultraman set and you have the entire budget of an Iron King shoot! They seemed to know that and decided to keep the whole thing very much tongue in cheek and the result is a wonderfully silly show that is ridiculously entertaining IMO. Considering the low cost for this set it is a lot of laughs for a bargain price.
Awesome.
