I spend a LOT of money on textbooks, both those required for my classes at college, as well as others for reference or a different perspective on the same topics. This book is the international version of the same text, and as it contains the exact same material and was significantly less expensive, It was very worth it. Griffith's approach is very concise, and he makes a great effort to not over complicate the topic. I recommend the book for the simple fact that it is a good reference of straightforward methods of solving quantum mechanical problems. If youre like me and have to start working with less symphonic physics problems so you can integrate all the little pieces into your overall understanding of a topic, this book will be a great addition to your library.
I have wanted to understand the mathematics of Quantum Mechanics for years but never penetrated the barrier. So finally I discovered this clearly written text that feeds the subject to you with a gentle spoon. It remains challenging because my brain has not been asked to comprehend such symbolic notation for many years. The journey will not be easy and the destination not final, but muscle will be retoned and the aches rewarded by the reassurance that results. If you are similarly inclined, hunt for a reasonably priced copy and begin your trek.

This rating is not for its suitability as a text as I am not a teacher and neither is it the latest edition. I did like the way it was written and wish I could have encountered it as the average student I was when I encountered QM awhile ago.

when purchasing this book I was nervous so as to why it was so unusually priced compared to other sources. However the book is a fair good print and the contents are identical to the book. To conclude, it was lucky that I stumbled upon it eBay. I do recommend the book for an introductory approach to the subject, as no prior knowledge is assumed apart from elementary algebra and calculus. The author is very thorough and explains the concepts in his own words.
My friends recommended this book to me, as a re-study tool of Quantum Mechanics. Here I do not want to mention my memory of my textbook used before. Of course you can see that is why I need a new book. I have read several chapters. I like it. However, there is some things you may consider. The book's cover is not the same as the picture. Mine is a green one. And the words are small, so you need to ask you eyes' opinion.
