I once watched a documentary on slugs that was faster paced, more entertaining, and easier to stomach than this train-wreck. I had more self-respect than to actually sit through to the ending of this with my wife (she's a notorious rubbernecker and filled me in later, thanx Hun...) and in-laws... and went to the other room to watch what the kids had on. They later all moaned, on, and on that I was the only smart one, to leave. This was torturous, and disturbingly painful in it's lack of an evolving plot line or real direction, or any "Witch's Hat" type development at all, drag, drag, drag, on to the bottom of the popcorn bucket... sooo anti-climactic... I didn't feel the lead character was developed enough from the start, to deem her as a person worthy of the sympathy her character needs later in, and throughout the film, before she falls and re-falls bearing her marital cross. I truly feel sorry if you see this because you're an E. McG. fan (like a previous review), he's being screwed over, got like 3 minutes on screen and kaboooom he's gone (with the son)... the ones to really feel sorry for! Unless your manic depressive and need a pick-me-up, or your woman has just wronged you and want to superimpose her onto this character, save your sanity and your popcorn for something more entertaining, it's not hard to find.Read full review
Even though it's rather sad, this film is amazing. I've read a lot of negative reviews for this film, people love Michelle Williams taking it all off but thats about all they like. However, If you take a step back at the end and think about it as a whole it sums up grief pretty well. But you'd only get that if you have suffered through a lot of it. I was raised in London so this film is also a little touch of home. Definitely worth watching.

A much better film than i had expected with almost all of the credit going to Michelle Williams who is just suberb in the lead role.Ewan Mcgregor and Mathew Macfaden are good too-but it,s Michelles film and i found it emotionaly one of the most involving films i have seen.
Great and entertaining movie.

This is a very moving movie about some tough issues. I was very disapointed that the first time they had a sexual encounter was edited out of the DVD. I am not happy with censorship in any form.
