Spent more on accessories for the set than what the set cost, ie. swivels, pliers, screwdrivers, wobble extensions, side and end cutters, vice grips , and assorted additional needed tools. The only quality complaint I have is that the 13/16 deep socket, 3/8 drive socket was missing and I picked up one and an 15/16 deep socket at the local Sears store. This set will not receive heavy duty use like my previous Sears, made in America tools have, and will be more of an emergency tool set which will be a gift for a grandson. How well this made in China set of tools is crafted is yet to be seen, but for the price, if anything breaks, it can be replaced. I am not a metallurgist so I can not define the difference in the metal, however I did take a made in China socket, and compared it to the made in America socket, and dropped both on the cement floor, and there is a distinct difference in the tone of the ring sound on impact. With eyes closed, it was easy to tell the difference between the two sockets. You can not beat the price however and most of these tools will never be tested to the point of breakage. It is a good value.Read full review

The set is awesome. The only "con" is that there are duplicate sockets, most likely unneeded, because of the different contact points on the socket. The tiny wrenches are of little value, but we'll see.

About 240-250 of 311 tools are ones probably used quite a bit. Nice ratcheting wrenches. Lots of sockets. Quite a few of the sockets are smaller 1/4 drive. Also quite a few of the sockets are 12 point. I'd say it's a good value in the $150-$200 maybe $250 range - if you need lots of smaller sockets. $1 apiece for Craftsman you will use all the time is a good value. If you need more bigger sockets, and 6 point sockets are better for you, I've found better sets at Harbor Freight for about the same price. Basically about $1 apiece for the tools you will really use. The Harbor Freight / PITTSBURGH brand has sets with more bigger and six point sockets in the $100-$300 range.

What More I need to say? It's a Good Deal for 311 pieces. Go to Lowes and it'll cost you about 150 for 250 pieces and it ain't Craftsman where Sears have them Lifetime Warranty. I am sure others have em but they ain't like Sears Craftsman tools though!!!! They have been around a long time. So I Like them..

I'm undertaking a renovation of a classic car and I needed to upgrade my tools to make the job easier. This set has all of the basics and then some. I've already used many of the tools and they are top quality, which you would expect from Craftsman.
