After the excellent "Light grenades" the band delights us with a rather soft and slow album. Gone are the slightly "angry guitar riffs" but that's not a bad thing at all. Brandon Boyds personal end excellent vocal style really comes to the forefront on this album and with brilliant songs like "Promises, promises" and "Adolescents" you can't go wrong. If you still want some "angry guitar riffs" you should go for the Australian release which contains several good live tracks from 2010. Incubus have once again delivered a strong piece of work, maybe not a masterpiece like "A crow left of the murder..." but well worth checking out
Great CD! The original tracks are a nice addition to the Incubus catalogue. I especially enjoy "In The Company Of Wolves." Quite unique song writing with softer tones of rock than previous Incubus releases. The lyrics are well-thought out and thrifty with the usual creative quirkiness that Brandon Boyd brings to the table. The live tracks from "The Concert For Miners" in Santiago, Chile, 2010 are awesome. Nice hand-selected numbers by the band from an important show. The B-side, "Surface to Air" is good enough to have been included in the final tracklist for the album. Overall: 8.5 out of 10.
