I had this book given to me as a gift and I thought it was pretty funny. It's real short and easy to read. It can be read in one sitting. The book is a powerful self-help tool in the form of a work of humor. It is sardonic advice explaining how people can "ruin" their lives. If you like Ben Stein's mind frame, you might enjoy the book. Hope this review helped. Have a nice day!
I generally appreciate Ben Stein's humor, and this book was no exception in that regard. I was a little put off by the cynical "be nice to people because someday you may need something from them" attitude - I thought we were just supposed to be nice to people, period. However, most of the advice was sound and the book was entertaining. It's a very quick read - read it and gave it to my daughter the day I received it.
I wish I had this book when I was in my teenage/young adult years. I've used some of the advice on my children and it works.
