I can't say that I've had time to use this tool yet but I'm going to write a review anyway. I've studied it & read articles about it and so far, it's everything it's bragged up to be. Though concentricity may be minimal when it comes to accuracy, picky reloaders like me like every advantage we can get when we're loading match grade ammunition for competition purposes. The concept behind this tool is self explanatory and it just makes sense to center the bullet in the cartridge case. Until I read about this, I didn't even know it existed. I'm very impressed with the construction and finish and, at the price I paid, I believe it's a good value and I expect it to last as long as I have left to reload (I'm 68). So criticize me if you will for writing before testing, but I know something of value when I see it and I can't wait to put it to good use. And how can you not love something Hornady makes?? I like this tool. It is easy to set up and easy to use. I have not shot any of my ammo yet that I have checked the concentricity with the tool, but it does let you know it the concentricity is out.

This tool is for persons who re-load their own ammunition for competition shooting. Such shooters take their sport seriously enough that they want to take EXTRA steps in the preparation of their ammo to give themselves every opportunity to load THE MOST METICULOUSLY ACCURATE CARTRIDGES possible. Steps like this are necessary when competitions can be won or lost by thousands of an inch. This tool helps to assure that bullets are seated directly in line with the bore of the rifle.

Well I guess you will never know unless you check it. I use Lee dies and 96% of my ammo has run out within specs (.002" or less) so I did a little testing with my .003" to.005" run out ammo. Firing my 4 out of 100 ( .005" max run out I wouldn't shoot anything over that) My group size increased about an 1" at 200 yds with my Ruger precision rifle in .308. Ever have that 1 shot that's just a bit out there when you knew the hold was good? This gauge eliminated it. Granted for must applications we are splitting hairs here, BUT if you are looking for target shooting precision bullet run out must not be overlooked. Try sending that shot straight down the barrel. The quality of this set up isn't precise as it could be but it works good. Best $90 bucks I have ever spent.

The gauge works great and what it has the so many don't is the ability to bring the concentricity of a loaded round into spec if needed.
