Product Information
Joe Gavilan (Harrison Ford) is an LAPD officer moonlighting as a real-estate agent to make ends meet. K.C. Calden (Josh Hartnett) is a fellow officer, sometimes masquerading as a yoga instructor to meet women, and harboring some serious acting aspirations. As the two struggle to pursue their sideline businesses, they get called up to investigate the mysterious murder of a rap group called H20 Klick. As the duo track down the killers, plenty of laughs ensue as they both desperately attempt to sell their alternative careers to anyone that crosses their paths. Joe attempts to sell property to the nightclub owner where the shootings took place, and K.C. endlessly quotes movie dialogue in an attempt to brush up on his acting skills at the most inopportune moments. The action builds to a frantic finale involving some spectacular--and hilarious--car chases around the crime-strewn streets of Los Angeles.Director Ron Shelton (BULL DURHAM) utilizes some eccentric casting (Martin Landau and Master P both have cameo roles), a string of witty one-liners, and spectacular location shoots to tell this humorous tale. Ford and Hartnett make a convincing on-screen partnership, clearly enjoying their roles as mismatched cop buddies, and providing plenty of laughs among the often chaotic, action-packed sequences.
This isn't one of Harrison Ford's best film's but it is an enjoyable movie. I admit I only purchased this film because he is in it. I don't think there is any role he can't play. It's a great action packed flick, and the plot is decent. The price was excellent and the film arrived in great condition. The only problem I had was it did take a long time to arrive to my home.
A very disappointing film NOT funny nor believable
I have been a fan & collector of Harrison's for 30 years now.
I USED to be 1st in the door opening day for his films.
It was films like this that made me stop doing that.
Ron Shelton, what happened to when you made good films. I remember seeing "Bull Durham" more than once in the theater.
Supposed to be an action/comedy. I remember just the trailer & commercials for the film.
OK, rap music people I get the story of the film. BUT, Harrison is obviously not for his audience. I HATE rap music & it did nothing for me.
All the cameos of actors & musicians. Ron's actress wife in it. With a bad hair cut.
Hartnett in his 15 minutes. OK did anyone buy Harrison driving while NOT watching where he was going why helping Hartnett read lines for a play? WAY TOO MUCH of Hartnett being an actor.
The ending. 1. A big chase where we are doing this in the heart of Hollywood. TV helicopters following the chase. Part of it in front of the Chinese Theater where Robert Wagner is SUPPOSED to be getting a star on the Walk of Fame. WE THE AUDIENCE IS SUPPOSED TO BELIEVE THESE REPORTERS FOLLOWING THE CHASE DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON AT THE THEATER? DID NOT BY IT 2 Then we were supposed to believe the gun fire in front of the theater with all sorts of people watching Robert getting his star? NOPE 3 Gun shoot out in an office where the people in the waiting room did NOT see Washington's character run in before Harrison followed him in. 4. Harrison & Washington on the roof top. Why was Washington's character not shot by the uniformed police officers that came up? Why didn’t Washington just stop when surrounded?
Did 1 officer reload during this?
No good extras on the DVD. Did not expect anything worth anything since the film flopped at the box office.
Just a disappointing film all the way around.Read full review
Had a dvd of this movie before. It went belly up. I'd been looking for another one for a long, long time. It plays great!! I especially like the full screen option. Thanks eBay and secondsale.com!!
Good action and comedy. Harrison Ford continues to keep his composure and things unravel around him. Josh Hartnett did a great job in the role of K.C. as a rookie LAPD Detective. I enjoyed K.C.'s extracurricular activities!
Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett are very believable as cops who have other
jobs to make ends meet. This movie has action, comedy, and is just a fun
movie. I didn't give it an excellent rating because of the language. There
are several scenes of violence, but it is necessary to the story. Harrison
Ford is a pro and anyone who likes his movies, will enjoy this one.
