I used the original DB3DL for years, in an industrial laundry. It got worked and abused everyday. It is old and worn now, so it takes it easy at home. Cause it got a relief finally to take over the shift. I expect this one to go a long distance also. I have a Hilti 1/4" Impact Lithium Impact Driver and most times it is too much machine. This Hitachi works hard, and the battery life is terrific. Goes for a week or more before needing recharging, and I still have both of the original batteries for my first driver. This one came with 3. I only recharged one battery since I got this fresh driver. I expect these to go for years too.

Nice tool for what it is. Used for aircraft maintenance and it works all day without a charge. Torque adjustment works fine with a large range of settings. Light beam could spread a little more to illuminate the screw head. A lock on the articulation joint would be nice to have. Can't evaluate for real heavy duty use .... would probably use a drill driver. A bit pricey for a tool that does not get used that often. Nice case and an extra battery a plus. Time will tell on durability.

I really like the light weight of this tool. I find that I can easily control the torque by how tight or lose I hold the tool with no need to set the torque ring. I generally use it on small screws #10 or smaller and smaller machine screws. It's small size allows me to access hard to reach screws that the more drill like drivers can't get to.
