I really like the ice mold! Machine and mold make very fluffy ice, much finer than regular snow come ice. So far seems sturdy. Only downsides: I have to hold down the button to keep the blade working; it's somewhat noisy; the rubber pad to keep it from slipping would be better if it was permanently attached to the underside of the machine. None of these would keep me from ordering another one if needed. It is important to follow the instructions to wait at least 5 minutes (a few more is better) after taking the ice mold out of the freezer and before putting the ice into the machine. This seems to "soften" the ice very slightly, which makes the blades work more effectively. My friends and I have enjoyed experimenting with various flavors, and with condensed milk and/or vanilla ice cream. YUUUMMMM!Read full review

You must lift the top off the thing to put the ice in. You almost have to use the 3 inch ice molds, and one full mold will not shave down into a full cup of ice, you have to shave part of a second round block of ice. After you shaved a block of ice as much as the machine can, you have a 3inch diameter disc of ice about 3/8 of an inch thick, still in the machine which you must discard or put in the freezer, right now, or you will have a pool of water around your machine. The simple way is to put the ice mold under the machine and let it melt into it, but if you don't come back and dry it all up soon, you'll have mold like you get around any wet area in your home. It's heavy. It's loud. And the worst is yet to come! Once loaded with ice and the top back on, you must push down hard to shave your ice. A nice consolation prize is - if you don't press too hard you get a finer powder. But for a person who likes to be treated nice, and who likes to treat people nice. This thing is a monster you'll never control! A total farce! They must be joking! Read full review

Bought as we are trying to lower calorie intake and thought this would be a nice change to a bowl of ice cream. The kids really like it, its extremely simple to use and they really enjoy the flavors and putting their own topping on the ice. Very easy to clean. Just a very basic well made piece of equipment

I replaced an old shaved ice maker with this and found that it's great for a lot more than snow cones. I use the shave ice in my caviar server and it's very easy to use, and clean up is simple and fast. The ice molds that come with it are very practical and so much easier to use than ice cubes are in some machines. I have found if I'm going to use a lot of shaved ice I can freeze several fills of the molds and simply remove the ice and store them in a larger container in the freezer ahead of time. It's a great machine.

Very cheaply made. It works but it's so cheaply made I know it won't last long. Thin plastic loud motor and a cheap razor blade that does the shaving. Ordered online if I had the chance to buy this at a store and be able to check out the real quality I would have never purchased. I paid 40. for it. It's worth about 15. Oh well I'll use it Until it breaks.
