I ordered this printer because the one I had before had been so reliable. Unfortunately, this one came with an alignment issue that I have not been able to resolve.

The print quality is poor streaky test batches, the one I have is much better but the black stopped working, this black works so good for print if you dont use colour , I am going to try to flush the machine and get the colour working, this is the best photo colour machine that hp has ever made and the only one with a pump printer that you can actually fill the cartridges and the ink lasts for years

This machine, when it works, will give excellent copies, prints and photos. The ink cartridges, when purchased, are not full. Some new ones aren't even recognized as being in the machine or are "out of date". This is something to be aware of before purchase. Because of the "chip" in the cartridge, they can NOT be refilled at home, as many of us do to save the cost of replacement. If you can overlook the ink problem, it's a good machine. 123zink
This is a great printer for photos. HP still makes variations of this printer, and it's easy to see why. It prints sharp, gorgeous, edge-to-edge prints. With the "02" ink series, you can replace colors as needed (although I haven't needed to yet.) The colors are crisp and true; my past experience with these Vivera inks is very good. Prints of both 4x6 and 8x10 size feed straight and accurately. The wireless functionality for connecting to the printer works great, and has made it more convenient--one less cable, and the ability to move it away from its primary computer. We also use this as a fax. We receive & print faxes, with automatic forward to my business office, and it does this task reliably. The scanner/copier functionality is easy to use. The sheet feeder supports multi-page scan/copy functionality. Installation went perfectly on XP Media center using HP driver downloads. We haven't found any negatives yet. With wireless Ethernet and sheet feeder in addition to print, copy, fax capability, current models of this printer are in the $300 price range; I purchased mine used on eBay, and got a great buy!Read full review
I have had this same printer since it's release in 2006 and it is still working strong. I have been offered by HP to trade it in several times and I keep saying no way. This is by far the best printer I have ever had and has definitely lasted the longest. I have used every feature on this printer many times as I am always doing office work for all the entities that I volunteer for regularly. I love the wireless option because I can be sitting in my living room on my laptop and print everything I need from there then go get everything once I am done. The Photosmart Printer prints the BEST prints. I love that it stores 4 X 6 paper in it's own drawer so you don't have to constantly add it every time you need photo paper. The color and detail is as good as printing them at your local photo store. The fax works unbelievably well and is easy to set up. I like that it has an option to pick up even if you have voicemail on your phone and don't have a seperate line for the fax, way to go HP!! I have never had any issues with any of te picbridge ports and I am impressed with how easy the screen guides you through everything. Setting up this printer is a dream even for someone who is computer challenged. I love the scanner and when I first got it I had trouble finding anything I scanned in but now I know it sends everything to a picture file named Scanner File, how simple is that. I love all the features of this printer and will never part with it. I am in the market looking for another one because mine is getting some serious age on her and I don't ever want to be without this model. I have had it over 6 years and still going strong. I love that it can copy both sides when they include the duplexer on the back which this model on ebay is not showing. That is the honestly the only thing keeping me from getting this exact model to purchase as my next one. I have used some of the newer versions of HP's Photosmart Printers and I don't like any of them near as much as this one. I love C6180!! I have also used this model on both XP and Windows 7 with no issues. I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 Professional (before Windows 8 came out) and had no issues with the upgrade or having to do anything differently. I absolutely love all the cartridges for ink. I go through so little ink with this printer. The ink cartridges are also a lot cheaper than any other printer I have owned in the past. I used to have the kind that takes only two cartridges and my cartridges were close to $50 a piece. The most I have ever paid for them was $38 for all 6 and that was at Staples. I see that the cartridges are a lot cheaper here on ebay. Enjoy, because I know I do.Read full review
