I'm 72 and have built models since I was 7 or 8 and without a doubt this is one of the worst kits I ever made. Plastic was brittle and many of the support pins and/or pegs broke trying to install. Even the decals were bad. They were as brittle as the plastic and broke just trying to get them of off the backing. I make my own decals and customize models as needed and this, although well detailed was a pain. Part numbers on the build sheet didn't help since there were no numbers on the parts? It was missing a pulley on the front so I had to make one. Now I'm worried about the other Hawk kit I have and haven't built yet. Good luck and I hope that mine was a fluke.
