This is a lacquer based primer / seam filler. It's applied like a thick paint, using a brush. I find it's much easer to use than putty for minor seams and minor fill jobs. It dries quickly, so you can build up layers quickly, and sands easily. They also make a Mr Surfacer 1000 and 1200 which are even thinner, and are used as an over all primer. My first use of it was on the control surfaces of a Trumpeter P-40b, where the "fabric" detail just looked like ribbed metal - I filled the area between the ribs with 2 coats of Mr Surfacer, then sanded it down until smooth, with only a slight variation to indicate the fabric covering.

Putty and primer in one. Fills in cracks or uneven edges on models. Can be used to simulate rust or casting flaws like real armor or ships. If thinned out can be sprayed with airbrush. Search youtube for uses and ideas. 500 has the largest particles. 1500 is the finest. Fills seams or create panel lines.

This is the best surfacer/filler I have used. It is easy to apply and so easy to sand and paint. I use only the Mr Hobby Mr Surfacer products for my scale models.

This product has elements of both a primer, and liquid putty. It can be used to fill small seams and gaps as well as a surface prep product for painting. It sands down smoothly after it dries completely. I highly recommend this product.
