I have Guild Wars Factions, Nightfall, and Eye of the North, and Nightfall is my favorite of those. It follows the same style of its own storyline started with Nightfall characters, which can be played out by any character from the previous two campaigns after you reach the main continent. The two new classes, the Paragon and Dervish, are unique in their own way, although I personally don't care for either too much. Like all GW games, Nightfall adds new skills, quests, monsters, etc. But the most innovative feature of Nightfall is the Hero system. As in all GW games, you can hire henchmen to join your party, but in Nightfall you acquire Heroes whom you can customize and use in your party instead of henchmen. Heroes are essentially henchmen that are built to your tastes. You have the ability to spend your Heroes' ability points as you see fit. You may also equip your Heroes with your choice of skills and spells. You can even allow your Heroes to use whatever weapons you want them to. Heroes also level up with your character, although they cannot surpass your character's level. If you obtain a hero whose level is higher than your own, he or she wont level up until you catch up in levels. All in all, Nightfall is an impressive campaign. A little pricey at $50, but if you are a fan of the game, Nightfall wont disappoint.Read full review
Guild Wars Nightfall is an excellent addition to the Guild Wars game. I have enjoyed playing Prophecies, Factions and now Nightfall. There are several significant improvements to the environment with this campaign. First and foremost is the introduction of personal heroes that accompany you throughout the game. You equip them; you set up their skills; you choose their second profession; you dictate the style they play. An additional improvement is the addition of free treasure chests and buried treasure found throughout the land of Elona. These are a great source of high grade weapons for your heroes. Characters level up quickly and obtain at least 4 heroes by the time the character reaches level 14. Heroes also level up quickly and are easily customizable for the area you are playing. Much like Factions; your character starts its young life on a island with a chance to grow in level before it meets the real nasty characters on the mainland. This is a big improvement over Prophecies where all of the young characters start in "pre-searing" and can't play with advanced characters until they've moved into more advanced areas. Finally, with the new installment a search feature was added to all of the games that allows players to post groups looking for additional players. Really a quick way to find a group to play with without having to troll through the "all" chat line. The Nightfall environment is clean; graphics are lush and the new skills available are robust and are great compliment skills to prior installments of Guild Wars. Get a campaign, start a character, join a guild and have fun! This is a wonderful game full of multi-level difficulties. There are lots of ways to participate no matter if you are a go-it-alone type (just you and your heroes) or the type that always enjoys a quick pick up game in whatever city your in; there is something here for everyone.Read full review
As with all Guild Wars games and their add-ons, they :cannot: be resold. A "used or like new" cd game is useless, an internet connection is required to play and the operating client can be downloaded from Guildwars.com, so you don't need the physical CD. NOTE TO 2nd HAND BUYERS and SELLERS: if the game key has already been used, you cannot "sell" or "reuse" the game by another customer like other video games. Reselling the DVD to a customer without its virgin key code = is in fact useless plastic trash. Each player must have a unique account. If the original game key is USED, then it is linked to the email, password, characters & personal information of the first person who used it. If you buy a (used) key, you're screwed. again, the CD is useless and not physically needed, it is the individual coded key(s) you need to open an account/to play Guild Wars.Read full review
I thought this game was great with being able to use heros in your party and I really enjoyed the storyline alot, however it was not as fun as Factions or the first Guild Wars because I don't think this is the game you would want to replay again and again like I do with the other Guild Wars titles. It is still a great game though and if you own the first two you should get this one.
Nightfall is a great Addition to guild wars... It still seems like they added all of this other campains too soon one after the other, I think they should have waited 1 whole year before the realease... It came out long ago, and I am still working some of the last quests on it, It is great, and speccially now that they have added "Hard Mode"... wich it lets you play all the campains all over again. Now everyone is taking their time to finish all of their titles, and get all the skills... Pretty much for nothing... the game is coming to an end, once Guild Wars 2 comes out. Still I will keep playing it as much as I can, untill the Guild Wars 2 comes out... Good luck getting all of your titles!
