I have a farm in Kona Hawaii and we have many overgrown trees that need to be cut and trimmed .I have three different gas chain saws I have used over the years . In the past few weeks I can hear my neighbor cutting trees down with a small battery powered chain saw and was laughing at him in my mind , thinking that he should get a real chain saw , and thinking he was kinda stupid maybe . Last week he had a friend doing it and when he was done , I looked over at what he had done in such a short amount of time and I was shocked . So I went online to find some and look at them carefully and find out what they are . How big , how much can they cut etc. I saw a ratings thing of the top ten and this saw was right on the top of the list . I still needed more so I read the reviews and a few of them was all it took to convince me that these new battery powered saws are liked by many . That still wasn't quite enough for me so I kept on reading reviews. Then I read one about an older man like me . He always used gas chain saws , then he tried this one . He said he had a big farm somewhere in the mid west . And lots of trees to cut. Said he never had such an enjoyable time cutting wood before he tried this saw . And he ended up getting rid of his gas chain saws .No more gas and oil mixing , hauling around a gas can . O K ! I'm almost convinced , but I'm a skeptical person these days .Lots of lies flying around this planet these days you know what I mean ? Anyway I needed something more , so I went on you tube and searched for someone displaying theirs for anyone to see . Well I watched a guy cut up big logs like they were nothing .And he was saying the battery lasted about the same as a tank of fuel on a gas saw. Now I was convinced . Bought one online that day , took four days to get here from far away and was ready to go right when I pulled it out of the box. Plugged it in the charger and the battery was already fully charged , that's unheard of . I went to the most tangled jungle type area on my 10 acre farm and started cutting . I still can't believe how ez this thing cuts and how quiet it is . Its just pure joy to be cutting things down around here now . The power is equal to a gas saw I believe , and lighter as well . One tip I would give is to clean the cover on the chain adjuster side often , debris can get clogged inside it if you don't and the chain might come off the bar .Other then that this thing is awesome . I'm ready to buy a 12" bar just like this one and sell all my gas saws 😂 . I have two rental houses on my land and I've always been limited to when I can cut coffee trees and others because of that noise factor with the gas saws . Not any more , I can cut just about anytime now with this quiet saw . Here's the best thing for me , I get frightened at night even know this is a peacefull place . I don't own a gun . But now I keep the battery charged and keep my saw near by . This thing will start very fast and quiet if needed for self defense in some crazy situation . 5 stars Read full review

I already have one of these but figured to have a spare on hand. I've put this saw through work that most gas chain saws would have trouble doing. Love the fact of not having to fight with carburetors gumming up from gas. Just pop in a battery, turn it on and go. Just make sure there's oil for the chain. Real easy to tighten the chain and clean the sprocket. The battery has quite a long life for cutting some good sized trees since I use it for clearing downed trees in my hunting area. I like carrying a 2.0 amp battery for a spare since it's lighter because once I get started, it's hard to quit! When the 4.0 amp runs out, then I pop the 2.0 in a just cut some limbs on the way back out. By that time, I'm worn out but the saw is still ready for more work. Very quite too which is great for not scaring the animals.Read full review

Only time will tell, but right now, this is a great saw for the money. I haven't used it much, but it seems to cut well, is well balanced, and is very maneuverable. Should turn out to be a very good investment for around the farm. Not having to deal with gasoline is a big plus, and it's very quiet compared to conventional chainsaws.

Exactly what I was looking for. This saw has plenty of power and is the easiest saw I’ve ever used. No mixing gas and oil just place the battery into position and get ready to slice and dice. I would highly recommend!!

The saw is great. Very quite compared to gas operated ones. Light and easy to use. Battery drains pretty fast when you are cutting larger trees ( over 12 inches in diameter). I got it to cut fire wood so it works great for me.
