I use beer or grape juice to attract yellow jackets. When l use beer the jackets start entering the trap immediately, the grape juice needs to set in the trap for about a day ,then the jackets start entering. The traps get so full of the jackets that it covers the liquid. I then dump them out ,and start over again. Would like to see a larger version of the trap.

I followed Guss’s bait recommendation and put chopped meat in these traps, then hung them around my deck, at least 10 feet from my doors. They unfortunately do not attract carpenter bees which are everywhere this spring. I hope that they will work with other stinging bees once they come out in volume. I do think they are of good quality and should last a few seasons.

Product works perfectly with either water or sugar water as bait. The only (very minor) drawback is that there is a small opening at the top under the hanging flange, and a few trapped wasps / yellow jackets escape through this. You can correct the problem easily by gluing a small plastic strip over the opening..

These traps work great, had to empty mine several times to clean out yellow jackets and refill apple juice. Killed hundreds of the horrible things.
