I became a Godzilla fan late in life, about 65 years old. I have been trying to find all the Godzilla titles and this dvd provided 2 movies I had not seen. Godzilla vs. Destroyah is based on the after effects of using the oxygen destroyer back in 1954 which killed Godzilla. SpaceGodzilla is a Godzilla clone brought about by Godzilla cells going through a black hole and re emerging as SpaceGodzilla. He gives Godzilla and Japan an very hard time.

I rated these movies a 3 instead of a 4 because SpaceGodzilla seems to drag a little. There really isn't a whole lot going on here. Plus, I don't really like the baby Godzilla character - he's too cute and cuddly. Although, as a Godzilla fan, I will say that you should still own this. It's not that the movie is bad, but it's definitely not one of the better Godzilla movies. Besides, SpaceGodzilla? Does anyone feel like at that point they sorta ran out of monster ideas for awhile? Clearly, the better movie on this disc is Destroyah. Now only is this character actually a brilliant idea, but it sort of ties the movie to the original Godzilla film. I also have to mention that the baby has grown up and looks more like a slightly smaller version of the adult Godzilla - who, by the way has gone radioactive and just may explode! The Destroyah character provides some good fight scenes and throughout the movie, there is almost a horror-like theme present; there's that and the action and drama. It's a well rounded Godzilla film. I think all Godzilla fans should own this, just because fans should have all the movies (!), but also because the Destroyah movie is actually pretty good. SpaceGodzilla, a tad mediocre, but fans will still get their Godzilla fix between these two films on one disc.Read full review
This is a great 2 film set of Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla and vs. Destroroyah (yeah that's how it's spelled). I remember when these came out when I was a little kid, I was afraid of SpaceGodzilla, but also completely taken in by the story. I love it to this day. Godzilla vs Destoroyah is different. I hated it as a kid because (spoiler alert - don't keep reading if you haven't seen the movie) Godzilla's nuclear meltdown and subsequent death. It was the greatest cinematic tragedy of my young life. I of course have a new appreciation for the movie as an adult, and enjoy it quite a lot as many fans do. The fact that you can get BOTH f these movies for a SINGLE purchase (and good price) is great. I highly recommend these movies.

If one of the two were maybe just a bit on the far fetched and corny side of things, I’d give it to Space Godzilla. A fine double feature. And for the price? Shipped speedy and well packaged.

I loved both movies on this box-set, some dislike vs. space godzilla and I can understand why but I enjoyed it thouroughly. but the main attraction to this double feature is without a doubt godzilla vs. DESTOROYAH! it is one of the best godzilla movies in the franchise and starts out with what the people want to see in the first place, godzilla destroying stuff, there's just the right amount of plot to keep you happy and destoroyah is my personal favorite of Godzilla's opponents. however the one thing about this double feature I didn't like was it's lack of the original language, the only audio available is the english dub, which usually isn't too bad but sometimes the voice-overs are downright bad. is it too much to ask for the original audio? that isn't a huge problem though, I still reccomend this double feature to any Godzilla fan.Read full review
