Worked absolutely great in my 2008 Chevy Trailblazer LT! The 10.4v 2012 update improved our existing navigation very well, instead of using the slow outdated OEM 2008 CD that came with the truck. The button input used to be super slow to type in destinations, and wouldn't find half the streets in our surrounding areas... even when trying to use the city/state first to help find them. Now the input responds much faster, and actually finds more streets than before. Also, I was pleasantly surprised to see that my saved destinations were not deleted and still there after the update! However, the last factory update for our vehicle was in 2012 (which this is for), so any newer streets/highways since 2012 probably won't show up. We also have an OnStar subscription, and of course map apps on our phones if we ever get in a pinch and need help, so it's not a huge deal for us. Ours was a copy as others mention, but it was very nicely made and it worked just fine. For the price I was very surprised! No glitches, no interruptions, and worked like a charm! Quick installation in under 5 minutes, but it does recommend that you simply drive down a common area for a short time before it recognizes the updated info added to the navigation database, and it has a chance to recalibrate itself. Note: You must have either the original OEM CD, and/or at least have the original software installed and working in the vehicle before using the CD update. From what I can tell, you then keep the CD update 10.4v for 2012 in the vehicle instead of the OEM CD... so you would just store away the OEM CD with your manuals for when/If you sell the vehicle or if you ever need it again. The update will never work without making sure the OEM CD was initially installed in the vehicle.Read full review

In my 2008 Saab 97xt it only works about 20% of the time but boot up takes much longer than normal. Even when it boots successfully the map can disappear suddenly and a "CD Error" message will come up. My guess is that the disc is not an original but a copy of a GM original which makes it more difficult for the NAV system to read. In my application my vehicle has the hidden DVD drive behind the nav screen. I tried cleaning the drive but it didn't help. I read some reviews that were successful with this product and felt it was worth the risk of the cost vs a new GM disc, but unfortunately this disc didn't work predictably for my vehicle.

I'm only giving it a 3 because 3 is average of the 5 stars. The reason I give it this is because I don't know how good the DVD/CD is. My POS Cadillac Escalade radio will not accept any disc in the top loader so I can't get to the NAV system to test or use it. I would image it would be ok.

I should have listened to the other reviewers, this CD blanked my screen out. It said it was updating in my 2004 Escalade, and then the screen went completely blank. I can't get it to eject it either. It worked fine before I tried this cheap map update, and now I don't know what to do. Don't buy it, it's not worth the trouble it causes. I hope this review helps someone else.

The disk works perfectly fine. The Nav system itself is a joke. Way too complicated to go from Point A to Point B. The main thing is that the disk and the system work because I dislike worn out features on vehicles, no matter their age.
