I really like this camera, but it will break on you. This has a known lens error problem related to the ribbon cable that connects the lens to the body. When this breaks, it can be fixed, but it's a lot of work, and there's not really any replacement parts available. Now, all warnings out of the way: if the camera is lightly used, it's worth getting. The sensor is very nice, and the manual lens ring control is fun to use. This is a fun camera, and if I had a lot of cash, I'd probably buy another one, and then learn to fix them. It would be a fun money sink.

I have used DSLRs and although I love the photo quality I have a hard time getting myself to carry one. Now this camera is a different proposition. I just stick it in my pocket and it is ready for any action. With the larger1/3 inch sensor it gets better images than a smaller camera sensor, but to be honest you can't tell the difference between the DSLR, this camera and my wife's little canon elf unless you blow the picture up large. I have published some picture books and even with an 8" by 10" page the smaller cameras images print out just fine --- if you have taken a good photo. This camera is built for portability. The lens closes up into the body so you can get it into most any pocket and the lens is larger in diameter then smaller cameras in order to let more light into the larger sensor. I like the way it turns on with a little twist and pull and although others have criticized this setup I find it very easy to operate and it is quite necessary to keep the camera pocketable. The lens is fast at wide angle and the 4x zoom is useful and sufficient. The fn buttons make the camera easy to program and it is easy to make changes to settings without going into long menus, and if you want you can set it to auto or program and shoot merrily on your way.Read full review

Pretty cool camera. Takes really good pictures Might be a little confusing if you don't have a little bit of a photography knowledge with DSLR's. Novel way of adjusting the telephoto by twisting the lens to zoom in and out.
