I purchased my Fluke 85 in 1992. I used it almost every day until the display started fade about 10 years ago. The warranty was out but for some reason I kept it. I am really happy I did because with the repair kit I was able to restore it to working properly. The instructions are very clear and cover all the 80 series Fluke DMM's. I was also surprised how easy it was to place the Elastomer strips. For less than $20.00 I was able to restore my Fluke 85 to like new condition. I highly recommend it. dls1972

You have a few faded segements, but you don't want to get rid of your 15+ year old Fluke DMM. You say "They don't make 'em like they use to!" Make your old Fluke like new again with this very easy to install kit. It takes about 15-20 minutes and requires basic tools. A flathead and Phillips screwdriver, some cleaner (I used 91% Isopropyl), a lint free cloth and tweezers are all you need to have a beautiful meter again!

Have been trying to fix the display for years,. I send the meter in and get it fixed and works for 1 or 2 months then quits work, so put up the meter.. looked on the internet and found these parts. Ordered parts, put parts in meter, powered up the meter and works the first time. Now I can use the meter I like again.

This install is not that hard. Remove the halves, take out the guts, remove the screen bezel, then the glass, take the old elastomers out, put new ones in and replace. No need for 4 pages of directions. But product worked well and I can read the screen again. So it's all good
