I had a similar product for a long time (Black & Decker), and needed a new one. This Fiskars model had been useful in trimming our large scrub oak both from the deck (horizontally) and from the ground (vertically.) The unit, when extended fully, still operates with stability. The cutting blade has remained sharp through many cuts, and the saw blade for trimming larger branches is very effective.

Lite duty item-there are a number of areas on the extendable handle that are weak. I found the alignment pin allows the cutting blade to turn-and the aluminum tubes come apart. In fact the saw and the last extension is still up in my tree as it came apart, and I have yet to figure out how I'm going to get it down. . Perhaps this is a good unit for very small projects, but for anything larger -3" and above I would go with a heavier unit. It did do the work I intended-then I tried to cut a 4" branch and this went sideways.

blade is totally useless for palm trees ok for other trees----limb cutter is a lifesaver for palms however the blade opening needs to be larger

Very sharp blade. Cuts great. Is a little wobbly at full extension but this isn't a surprise. If you don't try to fight gravity you can cut Very High branches quite well - Keep the blade in a Vertical Orientation. I recommend.

It's light, easy to handle, and a very sharp blade, makes tree trimming a breeze.
