I upgraded to Fishman to fix an annoying issue in my acoustic-electric. What it had was a B-band system that loudly accentuated the "B" string so whenever I plucked, I always had to make sure I didn't strike that string as strong as the rest. The 301 solved the problem. "Blending-in" the onboard piezo mic doesn't dramatically improve tone. In my case, it only makes the instrument more prone to feedback. Besides, the saddle transducer already sounds good by itself. There's a slight fit/finish issue with the casing. The hinges where the pre-amp body rotate and the locking mechanism have loose tolerances. A guitar obviously has to vibrate to produce sound so anything loose will create noise. Fixed the hinge problem with shrink tubing (you'll need to unscrew the bottom cover first), and a small strip of gaffing tape on the lock. Now the pre-amp body is snug when closed.Read full review
