This is very expensive considering what it is and what it does, but it does work. In Australia, on residential hinges, i found the shaft was slightly too thick. This means that you need to put a lot more force into punching it up to knock out the pins. This seemed unnecessary to me and it could stand to be fractionally thinner. Perhaps because it was such a tight fit, I found the perpendicular bars not particularly suitable for hammering. Despite being very well built, the metal had too much flex and i had to hammer onto the base (note my hinge pins were extremely tight). This is still an improvement on other tools i've used for this job so i would recommend it for anyone who was about to remove a bunch of doors for painting or other maintenance. The knuckle bending addition to the tool works pretty well. I used it to adjust hinges that were significantly smaller than the 'hole' in the tool and while a little clumsy it worked well in the end - adjusting my door just enough. The 'hole' is large enough to fit fairly significant hinges - commercial hinges i assume though i wasn't able to test it. Overall this tool is well thought out and works well, though i would have liked to see the pin slightly thinner. I really wish i could give it 4.5 stars because it's not perfect, but it deserves better than 4 as it's the best solution i've seen. I'll give it 5 because although not perfect, it's the best i've found.Read full review

This tool proved to be worthless and I would’ve been disappointed even if I’d paid $5 for it. You can’t adjust it to be snug on the knuckle and it didn’t do anything but scar the metal hinges. The adjusting mechanism on the wrench has a catch where you have to wriggle it back and forth to get it to tighten. Naturally, the catch was about 1/16” bigger than my hinge knuckle so it was difficult to tell if it was catching or tight (as tight as I could get it anyway. After all the frustration and damage to the hinges, the door sag remains. I would’ve been better off replacing the hinges as it would’ve been cheaper and less frustrating.

Excellent build quality on this unique tool. This is the only one of it's kind I've ever seen. It has the ability to do exactly what it claims to do. Very well thought out design right down to the hinge pin removal rod. As a unique tool, it's fantastic to have YouTube videos to show you how the tool works and just how to use it. After purchasing the first FastCap Knuckle Bender and using it at my home and my brothers home, I purchased a second one for my brother as a Christmas gift as he was so impressed with it. A must have tool for anyone who lives in an older home that requires minor adjustments to make doors fit properly.

It works well. Much easier than taking hinges off and putting them in a vice, then reinstalling to find out you didn't pound the pin holders back far enough and have to start all over. Doesn't work if hinges are loose or in very tight quarters.

I am a retired carpenter/general contractor still working part-time and have tried many different methods and tools to adjust doors. This tool is the best I have ever used. There is only one small drawback. It only fits standard door hinge knuckles. Since I mostly deal with standard residential doors it has not hindered me much. Buy it, use it and you will like it!
