I've used one before. These are great. When I was on active duty in the USN stationed at the San Diego CA 32nd Str. Naval Station my wife and I had to travel to my home in Chicago Illinois. We bought one of these at the Navy Exchange there and used it while travelling across country. We made hot dogs with it, boiled water for soup and made coffee (percolated coffee tastes so much better to me than instant, or drip coffee makers). Oh, and my wife even boiled some eggs in it. Upon receipt of this one, I was anxious to try it out and it made great coffee, it plugs into a wall outlet and has a attachment for the car. I do not know why companies stopped making them? I don't know why the Chinese have not adopted, remade, and is manufacturing them (RETRO) style? These coffeemakers are very useful for travel on the road, for camping and even when at home. They are small enough to accommodate two people, making up to four cups of coffee. One must be careful when cleaning them, to not immerse them in water but that is the only precaution. I can think of nothing bad about them.Read full review
