Mu previous external hard drive became too small to hold all data. The new one has 2T which I am told should last a good while. I opened the box, removed the old and plugged in the new drive. I think it asked if I wanted it to do the download but thereafter it started creating the new backup through to completion. It worked perfectly without any problems. I was also pleasantly surprised to note that my old hard drive was made by the same company. I'm very happy with the product.
