This vacuum has served me well. motor still runs great. I can hardly ever remember to change the filter on the side though. I tis probably doing more damage on than off at this point :-) the main qualm I ahve about the vacuum si that it gets clogged at the bend where the tube connects the brush unit from the main unit. sometimes the tube comes apart and it is very difficult to get it back on. I also wonder with 8 years of technology gone, if I am getting the best return for my vacuuming efforts. I would certainly think they should weigh less than 20 pounds by now. although I have all the attachments. I may have used them 5 times in the past 8 years :-(
I am somewhat of a vacuum enthusiast, if there is such a thing. I have been repairing them since I have been a kid. The Epic 3500 series is probably one of the best vacuums ever made in my opinion. Electrolux has been in my family for generations. They are simple, easy to use, versatile, and probably one of the most durable vacuums ever made. As a side job I clean houses and these are always what I use. I recently picked one up on eBay for about $200 with the attachments and it was in pristine condition. Changed the brushroll, and added a filter, and now I have an excellent running vacuum that will outlast anything you buy in the big box stores. With the exception of a few models, most of them do not have onboard attachments. This is either a pro or con for some people. I personally don't mind not having onboard attachments. It makes the vacuum lighter and easier to use. The attachments store in a caddy and are easy to connect. The sidekick attachment is by far the best vacuum attachment ever made. A motorized brush for upholstery and carpeted stairs. There really isn't much you can't vacuum with this unit. It has a switch that allows you to turn off the brushroll so you can vacuum hard floors, which it does flawlessly. Bags are easy to find and change. The brush has a geared belt that won't stretch or burn. It is just a well engineered machine. Also I have to point out that the design of the Electrolux upright has not changed much since they were first introduced in the mid 1980's. The company is currently under the name Aerus. Aerus still makes the original Electrolux vacuums. They are tried and true machines that perform great and last longer than most. Go for it, you won't be disappointed.Read full review
Nice shape packed well and arrived two days early. It was well worth the money since vacuum shops wanted 325.00 just for the power head

Everything about this model is quality. It's light to carry. There's a convenient carry handle on the back. The cord is flexible and quality, no kinking. The extra power function adds strength when its needed. The attachment allows for cleaning of couches and dog beds. Lots of great add-ons for reaching far or narrow spaces. I gave mine away to someone who needed it, and then missed it so much I had to buy myself another.

Love this vacuum!! Replacing identical one I have had for years. So easy to use. I love that it uses bags rather than dumping contents. Easy to use attachments, and the vacuum puts any others I have tried to shame.
