I like this clothes shaver. Hands down better than the battery-powered ones that I've used for decades. Two of my old battery-powered shavers lasted 20+ years and I think this one will too. This unit though is definitely "cheaper" in feel than the old model plastic shavers, but it's lightweight and feels comfortable in the hand. I like the cord length, but I'll be using an extension cord to do my bed top blankets and covers. My only complaint is that the lint tray just kind of falls off. There doesn't seem to be a latching mechanism. Problem solved with a rubber band. I used a clear ponytail tie (a package of 50 costs about $1 and I prefer them over rubber bands for longevity). Overall, I recommend this shaver for its power and electric cord (I'm soooo tired of batteries), especially if you can find it for under $8 like I did.Read full review

I bought this because I made the mistake of washing baby's clothes with fluffy blanket. Lint pills were everywhere, where picking them out by hand was too extraneous. Gave this one a go and it seems to have picked it up without a hitch. Need to go over clothing a couple of times but for the price and time you save, I'd say go for it! The cord doesn't extend far enough however, so you would need to be near an outlet when using it.

Had a battery powered one for 30 years or so. Finally it gave it up. This should be a good replacement from what I've seen so far. Corded tools are may not be quite as handy but usually have more power and their power certainly doesn't diminish as the battery declines. Considering the price, I've been more than pleased..The handle makes the work easier, too.

Like so many others here, I had a battery operated one of these from Brookstone that just died. In the last 20 years they invented the corded kind LOL I tried it out immediately on arrival. Worked perfectly and I really like the extra oomph that the shaver has because it is using electric power. I can see already tho that I need to press GENTLY so I dont cut holes in the fabric. Very happy for my $7US.
