This sharpener is small, compact and very handy. I've used a lot of sharpeners and this is the one I carry in my pack, my kitchen knife drawer and my EDC. That's why I bought three at once. It puts a fast, sharp edge on even hard to sharpen stainless steel. I have an old model of this same sharpener that I wanted to replace. The new one looks very much like the old one but when I went to use it it was more like using a very course file on my knife instead of a diamond sharpener. The reason I have kept the one I have for many years is that it always gave me the finish to my sharpening efforts and a great touch-up. There is no way I would ever use this on any of my good knives except maybe to begin the sharpening process and I have better stones for that. Save your money, there are much better touch-up sharpeners on the market.
