I would never own another type. The canister DC39 multi floor has the strongest motor and tools are so easy yo get to because they come right off the arm and go back on easy. I vaccum my bedsheet.without having yo lift the whole vaccum onto my bed. The cord os longer and retracts right back into cleaner fast I could go on and on but its definetly a womans best friend

I thought I got a good deal for a "Dyson". This thing is not reliable. Machine would stop working after about 10 to 15 minutes of use and if you plugged it into a different outlet and it would start again. The fuse on the first plug-in was not tripped and that was the thing that made you wonder. Parts are kind of flimsy and not easy to assemble. I wish the power scraper were belt driven instead of driven by suction. Over all this is a machine that is poorly designed and it carried a "Dyson" batch. Too bad.

I bought this one for my daughter. I've had mine for about three years. I bought one for my other daugher about two years ago. We love the canister vacuum!!! Someone told me Dyson had stopped production of the canisters. I can't understand why. The canisters and much easier to use. I've had that other Dyson Ball and I HATED it. This one is SUPERIOR!!!!!!!

On the upside: It has plenty of suction which is controllable from the handle from a lot to much less as you need. The brush head really pulls dirt and pet hair, tracked litter, etc. Love it as it's cleaning abilities are flexable as to the power needed. It is pretty light which makes cleaning the stairs an easy chore to carry it along as I go. It gets under furnature and beds without having to do a set up teardown and reconfigure tools as required with the upright we have. The downside: It thermally cuts out, initially good for our living and dining rooms, after that the thermal cut out occurs wilth increasing frequency unless you give it a rest. Knowning that from a few times out, I just rearrange my vacuum to dusting and polishing schedule so I park it for a while while I go back to the room just vacuumed to do hand dusting and polishing so by the time I get ready for the next room it's cooled and ready to go. The dirt collecting capacity is small and the dirt it can pull out is quite large, this results in more frequent cleanout stops than larger vacuums, I just add that to thermak cool down cycles, no biggie, just a small life adjustment. Overall I'm very happy with this machine it has a lot of power in a small easy to carry package, clearly way more power than many much larger machines. It gets under things without a configuration change, and enforces a new cleaning disipline with thermal breaks and dirt trap clean out periods along the way so really I make as good if not better use of my time. Decided to give Dyson a try...didn't really want to spend the money on a brand new one. This refurbished unit is basically new. Lots of power, easy to use, quiet. Excellent piece of engineering!
