This was a good price on a refurbished unit. The dust bin was obviously a refurb, was scrubbed clean and not pristine plastic, but that's no big deal for me, would be like that after a use anyhow. Everything else looks brand-new and the vacuum works great, picks up a lot left behind by the Roombas that we turn loose between visits by our cleaning lady. She prefers using her own vac on the stairs, but sees that this Dyson is way better anywhere it can roll. There's plenty of room in the dust bin to vacuum the house and it empties very easily, hold it down in the bag and pull the trigger. We also have an Animal hand-held Dyson that can easily get a room or get the non-carpeted areas on way less than a battery charge, is going strong after three years so we have hopes for this upright Dyson...Read full review

This vacuum has the typical great Dyson suction. However, I still own an original DC 07 animal vacuum that is still going strong and is built really solid. The new DC 33 is made of thinner plastic and the construction is not close to the DC 07. The plastic is thinner and more brittle. I talked to someone who owns one and she told me the release mechanism for the bin broke after six months. Also, I don't believe there is a turbo brush available for steps and furniture. On the DC 07 the attachments fit directly into the hose. Not the case with the DC 33. Several attachments I saw fit other newer Dysons but not the DC 33. Definitely disappointed in the quality.
