I've bought "layout blue" in the past. It was expensive for just a small quantity and went translucent much too soon. After using Marks-A-Lot felt tip pens for several years, I decided it's too messy: rubs off on your fingers and the work has to be re-inked and re-scribed. Dykem Steel Blue is reasonably priced for a goodly amount, is easy to apply, and stays on the work until removed with solvent, doesn't rub off onto your hands. Good stuff!

Jut make sure you don't squeeze to hard or the tip will pop off and you'll end up looking like a Smurf.

I used Dykem blue layout fluid 30-40 years ago while I worked in the metal trades, when they had brush-in-cap and spray versions, but not this "felt tip" wick type product. But I thought I would give it a try, and I must say this is the best choice for hobbyists and occasional users...
