These batteries were holding a 1.4V+ charge when I received them - 1st clue. Even off-brand fresh AA Alkaines will show a minimum 1.6 V charge. I know that does't seem like much of a big deal, until you consider these have never been out of the package, & they are Duracells. Current fresh batteries from major and lesser manufactuers are shipped or sold holding a min 1.6 volt charge unless they have been sitting on a shelf for several years. Long-story-short, When I used these in my LED flashlight (not one of those super high powered tactical ones) they lasted a far shorter time than they should have. They all dropped to a very low voltage very quickly. My best guess as a retired electronics tech, is that they were shelved a bit too long, &/or Duracell actually had a bad batch. At any rate, I do not believe the seller purposely misrepresented the batteries; a 2019 expiry date kinda says Caveat Emptor !, at least when it comes to Duracells. The seller was very professional, and gave me a prompt refund.Read full review
