I would highly recommend this book to any student beginning work on partial differential equations. The author lays out concepts clearly, and chapters build on each other at a rate that is easy to follow. Although the book can get a little sparse on details at times during examples or derivations, the author provides relevent referance for each chapter, which were selected by the author because of their readability. All in all, the text is a concise but clear textbook, and would serve just as well as a reference or as a study text.
Excellent introduction to partial differential equations. Great explanations and worked through problems. Wide coverage of most or all early PDE college topics. Some colleges offer courses from the book. I suggest buying it if your selecting an introductory book for yourself (outside of assigned work).
