I modified my loco and installed the decoder as the directions said. I made a few lapse, then hit the brake and it stopped and then took off out of control. I turned off the track power and the decoder never worked again. When it did the sound was so low I couldn't hear it when the train moved. I sent it in to be fixed but I'll never buy one again.

It is not a true drop in decoder. If you do not want sound then you can call it a true drop in decoder. For the capacitor and speaker to fit you have to mill the frame for one or the other.

Works well. Sound is just ok compared to the factory Kato kobo decoders

More info on reviews please , Im planning on buying one, but reviews are not reviews on this product, what loco did you install into, where did the speaker fit ? was sound loud enough , did it have same old digitrax smooth running ? reviews give info, about the product... reviews are not for feed back, like just on time ?
