I purchased for the SACD / CD use only! I have been in and out of the HiFi game for a long time trying to put together the best poor man's Hi-Fi Stereo system I could. I have found a rare vintage and modern set up for an extremely small investment , that gives incredible sound. I just wanted a SACD and the reviews on the SACD part of the unit were enough for me to take the crazy dive at $45.00 Lol. I am using a NAD 7140 pre-amp , A Project RPM Carbon 3 turntable, a Vintage Denon 2400 power-amp 200 Watts per Channel, a Denon 1920 DVD/CD/SACD player and this system is powering a Set of Klipsch RF-7 II's. I have to say for what I have invested , this system is a Bang -up High Quality System! The Sound stage and Headroom is remarkable. As far as the Power- Amp goes this thing runs quiet and if it were a car engine it would be a fully blown HEMI!!!!!!!!, more then enough power. I know what HiFi is and I have listend to $45.000 systems, This is not a $45.000 system but your friends wouldn't know the difference unless they were schooled. I know I got of topic sorry! This is a remarkable DVD/CD/SACD player for the price. Thank You for reading. Respectfully Dean. Ps. I am thinking of doing a book on how to build a poor mans Hi-Fi System, Let me know what you think based on the short read above. Again ThanksRead full review

I purchased this player to use as cd player. It plays regular cd format fine but will not play mp3s which was a major reason for this purchase. Have not tried a DVD so have no comment on that. Unit looks fine, came with manual and remote which works. I will give. it 3 stars since it will play cd's.

These little DVD players have been selling for extremely reasonable prices and I have bough several as Christmas presents. They play every format of disk except Blu-Ray and do a gteat job at it. In a head to head comparison with my older Sony DVD-9000-ES, they are heard to head on DVD Quality and very, very close on sound quality with SACD and CD. THe Sony is a little warmer and fuller sounding but the Deno can play every disk I feed it. The Sony sometimes can't read the SACD leayer on dual format SACDs and defaults to CD. It also cannot read CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R or DVD+R, nor can it play MP3 files. That makes these littel Denons are real steal for the money.
This is a fairly high end unit. If you have DVD-A’s. get one the sound id very good don’t sell you DVD-A disks.

This is a very lovely, ergonomic, well constructed, smooth, player, which today sells when you can find it a very attractive price. The sound quality is very good but not up to the best modern standards. I use it strictly as a transport, and use the digital coax out with a top rank modern DAC, and the combination is totally satisfying!
