I bought this Dell SE198WFP 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor because 7 years ago I purchased a refurbished 18" Dell Monitor. Fully adjustable. It's on about an average of 14 hours a day, 7 days a week. It's not even missing 1 pixel, the picture is sharp and the colors vivid. The Dells' sit higher off the desk than allot of new Monitors. I like the fact it's Tilt adjustable and comes with VGA & DVI ports. Same as my old one. I have a Dual Monitor Card and don't know how I ever get by with one. I use my main screen (the new Dell) as my #1 screen and I'm loving it. I would recommend this Monitor to anybody looking for a good all around Monitor in the $110 shipped range. P.S. You can snap on Dell Sound Bar.
I purchased this LCD monitor because I had enough of thie monster of a monitor on my desk which took more room than necessary. I roamed the internet looking for refurbs (an excellent way to go) prefering Acer with no luck. So I setteled on a 20" Dell. The price was good, however when I got it installed I noticed my screen saver lacked true proportions. People are squatty & disproportionate. Now I now have more room on desk & it is a lot easier on the eyes.Future ones could use some improvement However I like the choice I made and would do it again. Also the folks I bought it from were a pleasure to do business with.
Well packaged. Dell shipped Very quickly. Very simple setup. Loaded drivers for vista 64 ...NO problems. No dead pixels. Gamers...I was quite nervous about buying for gaming. I LIVE for gaming! Now I am no expert with all the grascale testing white screen tests blah blah blah. BUT, I can say i plugged it in, threw the box on the floor in a pile of rubble and was fragging in less than 10 minutes. I used the gamers setting in the menu (I didnt know it HAD a gamers setting!)It took 5 minutes of the 10 to figure out the menu! Worked good color wise out of the box. This is my first LCD just for gaming. That said, I did do some homework, and, all i can say is....BUY IT. No ghosting. No lag. period. It IS slightly small for me. I went from a 17 crt and everyone said things like wow huge, so much bigger etc....NAH! Bigger is always better! I wish i had the cash for a larger LCD, 24 inche$$.But, PRICEWISE, and performance wise, A super deal! Now...the rest of you... This monitor may or may NOT be for you. It is very nice (pretty)looking for your home, or office. Video clips look very nice, and there are lots of settings for that stuff. And there are several settings I didnt try...for surfing, or workstations. (text etc) Text in gaming mode in my opinion is very good. last topic....veiwing angle. I game, game, game.....surf some , then game more. my point is, i look directly at the screen...no angle problems here! BUT,if you need to look at this thing from angles...id look elsewhere. At first i was very depressed! the screen looked awful! I was going to get a coffie, and try to play with the settings. As i stood up, and looked, I saw the screen was perfect! I sat down, awful. I adjusted the screen angle and...sweet. SO, i said screw the coffie and a gaming i went! Its angle adjusts easily up and down, as said in other reviews, no height adjustment. It is about an inch higher than id like. DELL...make these shorter!...you can always add (with a book etc) but cannot shorten! No biggie tho. I am VERY happy. My wifes LCD is an hp1907 i think...it is much better at angles up and down and left and right. It is also a VERY good monitor BTW, but $$$$. I didnt like the glossy bezel...and screen. FINGERPRINTS!!!! Oh yeah Dell. The blue power LED. GOD! DELL, what is the deal with that! blinding! ADD A RESISTOR IN THE LCD curcuit!....I used a black magic marker to tone it down and its ok now. 1 last thing. this goes into sleep mode and back out very well.Read full review
We have two of these in the house and they have served our purpose well. The viewing quality is crisp and clear and there really have been no problems. It is a nice size and it has a simple, attractive design. The only thing that has ever happened was a line (about 3 inches long running vertically) appeared on the screen and stayed for a couple days before disappearing, never to have returned. Other than that, nothing bad. It's not fancy, but it is a good product for the money.
I use computers in my business a lot. I already have experience with this model and type of computer monitor. The particular system I upgraded to a tool monitor display system. It was very easy. I cannot tell the difference between my computer monitor and the computer monitor I recently purchased on eBay. The auction purchase experience was a challenge however enjoyable. I will participate in such item procurement engineer future, as needed. I will purchase from the merchandise vendor again on an as needed basis. Thank you for being there... You offer a very attractive and competitive alternative to the big box, and better mail-order house equipment vendors with one consideration; the purchaser must perform due diligence regarding the proposed item for purchase. Reasonable review of product offer description and conditions is clear. Thanks to eBay merchant vending procedures, I assume.Read full review
