Ryan Reynolds (National Lampoon's Van Wilder & more recently Just Friends) Stars in this comic look at the love live of a father as he tells the story to his daughter (Abigail Breslin, Little Miss Sunshine and the recently released Nim's Island) of how she came to be. The story begins with Breslin hounding her father to tell her the story of how she was born, Reynolds then tells her the story, which is the rest of the movie. There some good humor and the movie has a wonderful story line and in the end everyone ends up happy. If you like Romantic Comedy's this would be a good addition to your collection. Rated 4 of 5 for a good performance by Reynolds and Breslin. Definitely one to see...
I bought this movie with the interest of seeing how the explaining a divorce to a child could be explained in a matter to make it easier for the child to understand. The attention of the story and the way the character decided to explain it to his child was very intense and kept your interest throughout the movie. Realizing that this was only a movie, yet having been in that position as well, it was truly enjoyable and very much one that touches the heart but yet has the lighter side of things portrayed as well. I would recommend this movie to anyone who needs or wants a comic/serious look at life and who can realize that even in things pertaining to the heart all persons, young and old, have feelings and can review what is truly important to them and maybe by looking back will gain insight to what really matters most.Read full review
What a wonderful movie this was. It is a family type movie that tugs at your heart. The story line was great and the acting was over the top. I thought that it would be a corny type of movie but it was a surprisingly great movie. To be able to watch an endearing movie like this gives a feeling of warmth and hope. I like to watch a movie that isn't full of blood and guts, or that scares you out of your wits. This movie is a keeper and will not disappoint you and the bonus is you can watch this one with your kids!! I recommend it to all and you, like I was, will be glad to have taken the time to watch it. It is a movie that you like to watch over and over and still get a good feeling from. Isn't that what watching a movie is all about? It leaves you entertained and leaves you feeling good. The movie shows how a child can be interested in the reasons for their parents getting a divorce and a parents quest to help their children understand that parents sometimes don't make it. I really liked the way the plot made it a story in order to help his daughter understand why her parents went together anymore but the movie takes it one step further to attempt to show how a new possibility of a "step" parent doesn't take the place of a parent, but adds someone else to love instead. Great movie!!!!Read full review

This has become one of my favorite movies--a great romantic comedy! Ryan Reynolds has come a long way as an actor, and he is great in this movie. Isla Fisher is also good, and gets the benefit of delivering some great and memorable movie lines. Abigail Breslin is cute as Ryan's daughter, who wants to find out how he came to marry her Mom, and seeks to understand why they are now getting divorced. (I can't tell you who the Mom is played by...you'll have to watch to find out.) For anyone that lived through Clinton-Gate, this will bring back some memories, as it takes us from the 90's through today. Anyone who has had ups and downs in there job careers will be able to identify with Ryan's character. An then of course, anyone who has gone through the ups and downs of relationships will relate. Watch it now!Read full review
