Bought this pump six years ago, and it finally just sized up. It had pumped a lot of water and filtered out a lot of sand. I live in a very sandy area and it's been down a 80+ year old well (all dirt/rocks/sand). I did pull and drain this pump every fall for the winter. It was then placed back in service every spring. My irrigation and livestock were dependent on this pump and it did not let me down. Do be careful, if you are using sprinkler heads and not flood irrigating. The water pressure with destroy any sprinkler head that is not commercial rated heavy duty. I can run water from every outlet and never lose any pressure. Buying another at this moment. You will see rust on the exterior every time you pull it up, but it has not effected it's use before now. Worth the money.

The pump works fine, and pumps a lot of water. The only concern I have is there is a small amount of rust on the outside of the pump near the inlet holes on the 2nd day of use. That makes me wonder how long it will last. The rust is from inside the pump, not the stainless steel case. So, time will tell if it holds up. But so far after several days of use it is working fine.

I chose this pump because i have a bored Well not a drilled well and i have a concrete lid or cap on top of the well with a 4" hole in diameter. The pump is 3.5 in diameter and it fit perfect. I also have a long way- up hill to pump water, the pump was more than strong enough to do that and supply my home with the water i need and at the pressure i needed. I am 110% happy with my purchase, but i did my homework first before i bought it just like they told me to do. Thank you for a quality pump at a great price!!

Inexpensive chinese oil lubricated pump. When oil bladder ruptures, it ends up in the well. Good luck cleaning it out. Now, It will work, but don't expect it to last long. If you are on a budget go for it. Just make sure you apply the specific model correctly, with a correct size tank, wire size and then you may get 5 years. Yes you can buy a lot of these cheapo pumps compared to a one real pump, ( Goulds, Schaefer, Sta-Rite). Even the best pumps will fail prematurely if applied incorrectly. I've replaced several of these units installed by do it yourselfers. Always, had an oil leak, and applied wrong.
